Popcorn

Why do we sell popcorn?

  • Selling popcorn helps our scouts fund their adventures! Dues only covers part of what we do with the scouts year-round, and selling popcorn is a tradition scouts have done for years to supplement things such as camping, day trips, community events, and more.

Pack Goals

When the Pack reaches $45,000 in sales, all scouts will earn an exclusive Bowling Party!  After we reach $60,000 in sales, the Pack will spend the day at Air-Time.  Our big goal of the year is $75,000 in total sales.  When we reacht $75,000 we will donate and build a GaGa Ball Pit at Elmwood!

Trails End College Scholarship

Reach $2,500 in sales during ONE calendar year and the scout will be enrolled in the Trails End College Scholarship and earn 6% of all sales present and future. The $2,500 only needs to be sold in one year and not every year. Additional paperwork is required each year.

Online Trails End and Amazon Prizes

Once online sales reach $300, scouts will earn an Amazon gift card equalling 5% of their total online sales.

Where can you get your scout's popcorn?

  • Order forms and ready-to-sell "wagon packs" are available through Pack 1472's Cubmaster, Richard Pojeta.

Where and who should you sell to?

  • Family and friends, around the neighborhood, places of employment, clubs, sports groups and more. It never hurts to ask!

How do you take orders and process payments?

  • Wagon packs mean you have product on hand to give to customers right then and there. Paper orders can also be processed and delivered later. Payments can be made in cash, check, or charge. Ask one of the Pack 1472 adult leaders how to use your smartphone to take credit card payments securely!
  • Fill an entire paper order sheet and turn it in to a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Universal Studios Florida vacation!
  • Need another order form?  Download and print a copy here

What is a "show and sell"?

  • Selling to crowds means people come to you! Our Pack Committee sets up various dates and locations around town. One to two boys and their parents sign up to work a two hour shift (or more if desired). Take stock from the Pack Warehouse (The Pojeta garage), setup a table, and let the sales come in! You can see a sample setup and read more HERE.
  • Sign up for a shift using the link on the left, or click here: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/60B0D4AACAD2CA6F85-popcorn

I want to be more involved. How can I help?

  • Our Pack is still looking for a popcorn team - people to help coordinate Show and Sells, manage inventory and lead creative activities throughout the popcorn sale.  If you're interested, there is a plethora of training (online). Contact Richard Pojeta for more information.

But no one I know eats popcorn, or they hate buying "stuff", or I hate selling "stuff".

  • We get it. Entice those people to still fund the adventure by supporting our Hometown Heroes - local first responders and military service men and women by donating to Operation Popcorn. For $30 or $50, popcorn is distributed to our local Hometown Heroes.
  • Think of it this way: we aren't really selling popcorn, popcorn is simply a thank you for making a donation to fund our adventures!
